Therefore, the limited genetic pool associated with shaded Maine Coons presents challenges, including an increased risk of hereditary health issues due to elevated COI (Coefficient of Inbreeding). Moreover, some shaded Maine Coons lack profiles that align with breed standards and tend to be smaller in size compared to their traditional-colored counterparts.
